New Playground!

As previously mentioned, some recent teams helped CCCD put in a new playground. We had a playground before, but it had a few issues. It was put in with the concrete above the ground where the kids could hurt themselves on it. It had some rotting wood as a part of its structure. And, often the houseparents would not let the kids play on it because of its condition. I asked a team from Ohio if they would be interested in working on this project and they "took the ball and ran with it." They did a great job and put the main parts together. Our next team from Missouri came and added sand around each piece and added a few finishing touches. We hope that this becomes a productive place for the kids to play. The area has kind of transformed into a park with benches for the houseparents, a picnic table, and a great place to run around. I posted the before and after pics. I tried to catch it all in a "stitched" picture and so it makes everything kind of small, but I hope you can see the transformation.
